Information about Jean Muir:
Jean Muir was a British fashion designer who established her own brand towards the end of the 1960’s. Her design ethos was to produce simple, high quality designs typically working with silk, jersey, cashmere and crepe fabrics. The focus was on the form and drape of the garments she made and which typically avoid unnecessary decoration instead utilising construction techniques to add interest and structure to garments. Today, examples of her work can be found in notable museum collections including the V&A and the Fashion Museum, Bath.
