Policy

By purchasing from Dressed in History vintage, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully before placing an order.

Shipping and Delivery

We ship to anywhere in the UK, Europe and most countries outside the EU.

Orders are processed within 3-5 business days. Transit delivery times vary by your location, but items will usually be delivered within 3-5 working days of shipment but may arrive later in some cases.

Orders are shipped via the Royal Mail and we do not ship on public holidays. We send all UK parcels using the Royal Mail second class signed for service, and all EU and international parcels using the Royal Mail tracked and signed for service.

Dressed in History does not accept responsibility for orders which go missing or receive damages once in the care of the Royal Mail.

Buyer’s Responsibility

Dressed in History Vintage is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages once the Royal Mail Postal Service has received it. It is Buyer's responsibility to provide correct shipping address when making a purchase. We will not ship to an alternate address after your order has been placed. Dressed in History is not responsible for incurred VAT or Import Taxes for overseas deliveries. 

Once an order has been placed, you are unable to cancel or amend your order.

Tracking your order

Orders are shipped through the Royal Mail Postal Service and tracking information is provided when your order has been fulfilled. You can track your package by logging into your account or going to: https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item and entering the tracking number provided.

Returns, Refunds and Exchanges

Please shop carefully at Dressed in History as all* vintage item sales are final and we regret that we cannot offer a refund policy. This is standard practice for most vintage dealerships and we offer a full garment description and condition report executed to the best of our knowledge and ability. We are more than happy to answer additional item queries via telephone and email.

Please note that we do not accept returns based upon size. Precise measurements are included in each listing. We ask you to read the item description carefully and check the garment measurements against our sizing guide to avoid confusion.

In the unlikely event of an issue with a garment not covered by the above, we will consider offering a store credit note on a case-by-case basis but will NOT offer a refund of payment or an exchange. If you would like to request a credit note, please email hannah@dressedinhistory.com with your request. 

The customer must make Dressed in History aware of a problem within 48 hours of receiving the item and return the item within 5 working days in the event of a return agreement.

The buyer is responsible for return shipping fees. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, missing parcels. Please utilise a tracked service for your return shipments.

Bridal Returns

Dressed in History will accept the return of items listed in the 'Bridal' collection only. If an item is purchased for bridal purposes, but is not listed in the "bridal' collection, the customer will not be entitled to a refund. 

A full refund with only be issued if the garment is returned within 14 days of the date of delivery as stated by tracking information.

Refunds will only be issued if the garment is returned in the same condition as it was sold.

Customers will be responsible for using a tracked service to return items and will do so at their own expense. No liability is accepted by Dressed in History for returned items lost in the post. 

Process of Sale

Dressed in History Vintage offers items for sale on several different online platforms. As such, very occasionally an order may be refused because it has already been purchased on another site. In the case of this occurrence Dressed in History offers our sincerest apologies for any disappointment caused and asks for the customers understanding and forgiveness.

Dressed in History reserves the right to refuse an order based upon the inability to obtain payment from the customer.

A Note About Vintage garments

Please be aware that unless otherwise stated, every garment offered for sale by Dressed in History comes having lived a past life. As such, wear consistent with the age of the garment is to be expected and cherished as this is part of the character and appeal of vintage items. Your vintage treasure may require a little more love and care than newer garments in your wardrobe. As such, we offer a guide on the care and maintenance of your vintage item which can be found in the 'Buying Vintage' section on our website.  

Thank you for taking the time to read the 'boring bits', we really hope that you will not need them but as a small ‘one woman show’ business, it is necessary that I offer them for you to read.
